Serious networkers recognize that networking is not selling. They understand that they have a limited amount of time to introduce themselves and convey the essence of what they do.
Professionals who network convey a phenomenal message that is heard by others. They have taken the time to write scripts that are concise and very descriptive overviews of their products and/or services. When they attend a business mixer and meet someone for the first time they are in a position to give them a good explanation of what they have to offer.
These professionals show pride in whom they are and their product or service. When required to introduce themselves they give an overview of who they are and what they do. Dr Ivan Misner has a recommended sequence for an introduction script that I recommend you use:
· Your name
· Your business or profession
· A brief description of your business or profession
· A Memory Hook
· A benefit statement of one of your products or services
· Your name again
The more things people can see, hear, feel, and touch, the more likely they are to remember your message.

Mr. Carney,
I thought you might be interested to know about a podcast episode that I just published featuring local (Indianapolis) networking guru Lorraine Ball. I found her interview to be one of the more informative pieces that I have heard in a long time.
I thought you might enjoy listening to it if you have a chance. You can find it at www.greatbigpodcast.com.
I very much appreciate your blog and several others associated with the Duct Tape Marketing Blog Channel. Thanks for all the great information.
